“Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

As iron sharpens iron, let's encourage each other on this journey of interrupted writing and faith.

Who We Are!

We're Christian writers who love the Lord, believe Jesus is the only Savior, and serve him whole heartily. We're men and women, learning from each other, and growing in our craft and Christian faith as we pursue publication.

We're parents, spouses, caregivers, and employees whose writing is interrupted by daily tasks.

Picture 005

We're learning to be content in this season God has called us to and honor him in everything we do.

If you feel you're a kindred spirit, then you're welcome to join our community!

Community Guidelines

"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." Philippians4:8 NAS

I want this community to be a safe place for us to share our faith and writing experiences. I don't want it to become just another place to promote ourselves. So I'm asking that we keep the community clean, focused, on topic, and free from mass emailing for self promotion. People who stray from these guidelines will be removed.

(And unfortunately I have no control over the Google Ads:)

A Nugget of Truth in a Pile of….Well, You Know

My husband and I had a “discussion” of sorts last week. The subject was my failings in one particular area. And oh, how I hate those kinds of discussions! I sputter. I defend. I attack. I pout. I sulk. And about three days later, I finally decided to actually think about what [...]

Worship

I woke up this morning with a need for worship.  I was dry, but I knew He would fill me.  Anxious fingers grasped my Bible, but I felt the call to worship with music.  As the first few notes played, my heart quickened and called out to Him.  I need you.  I took a deep [...]

Writing Lessons from the Mini-Marathon

Saturday I ran the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon and being me, I looked for lessons and principles. One thing I’ve learned is that little in my life ever falls in one category. God often uses lessons from one to teach me principles that can be applied in other areas. Here are a few I extrapolated out as [...]

The Crafting of a Life

We all know people who don’t get excited about books. Their heart rates flatline at words and margins. Or maybe they do enjoy reading, but have no idea what blood, sweat, and tears go into crafting an opening sentence designed to grab that elusive commodity–an editor’s second glance. Storytelling, it’s what we writers appreciate best. Discovering [...]

Not broken -- sculpted

Ever wonder about the negative and/or traumatic things that happened during your life? What if we could go back and fix what went wrong?

Loved ones wouldn’t die.
Illness wouldn’t exist.
Evil couldn’t attack.
Mistakes would be undone.

We would all be different.

At very young ages, several of my friends lost their mothers, and that loss affected them deeply. Now I watch as they tenderly nurture their children, family, and friends.

Several of my friends were abused. Through God’s love, they fou… Continue

Poem: When Will You Come?

Oh my Lord –

When will You come?
Will I be found, before my earthly life is done?

Will I experience Your Resurrection Power
and observe how sin You have conquered & devoured?

It’s a win-win scenario, for me, in any case –
As I long to see Your radiance, revealed at Heaven’s pace.

To enter Your gates with humble willingness
is real, knowing that I’m clothed by Your Righteousness.

When will You come?
Will I be found, before Death has finally succumbed?

Although Your timetable has not bee… Continue

I'm not sure if everyone is aware of our great new chat feature located in the lower right hand footer bar...for lack of a better term. But it's a great way to get to know the members here better. I recently attended a Monday night chat on another NING site and thought it was a super idea so I'm thinking of establishing a monthly chat feature writers who are successful or have wisdom to share about the battling the interruptions in their lives.

What do you think? Interested? I'm always looking… Continue

Grain of Mustard Seed

“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you,” Matthew 17:20, KJV.

Mustard seeds are among the smallest of seeds measuring roughly 3mm in diameter. When Jesus spoke about faith, he compared it to this seed. He could have chosen from a wide array of seeds, but He chose the mustard seed.… Continue

Shaking the Tree

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit,” Matthew 7:15-18, KJV.

What is a false prophet? Well, let me begin with the meaning of the word prophet. It… Continue

A Place of Refuge

“This was so that, by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God ever to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge might have mighty indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us and set before [us],” Hebrews 6:18, AMP.

Refuge is a shelter from danger or trouble; a safe place. God is our refuge! He is our place of shelter in the midst of storms. When we experience troubling tim… Continue

The Veil

“But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty,” 2 Corinthians 3:14-17, KJV.

A Fool's Heart

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good,” Psalm 53:1, KJV.

A fool is defined as one who is deficient in judgment, sense, or understanding. They lack the sense to discern spiritual things. “But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he isContinue
